Sustainability

Sustainability, environmental and climate changes are some of the greatest challenges of our time. Sustainability permeates all areas of our business and forms part of our daily and our long-term work within areas of production, design and logistics. We are faced with a vital task, that requires patience and hard work, although we have come a long way we won’t be satisfied until we have become 100% sustainable. Here, you can read more about what we do to meet our goals.

Daily Sports sustainability goals

As part of our progressive plan towards a sustainable future, we work with five of the 17 sustainability goals set out by the UNA for 2030. In these four areas we can can make the biggest change. Today, they are implemented in every aspect of our sustainability program:

• Sustainable fashion
• Sustainable production and sustainability-labelled garments
• Carbon footprint
• Social sustainability
• Gender equality – across all ages

Please read more about each area below.

Sustainable fashion

We have set a target for 2025 that covers the sustainability-labelled garments in our collections. These are garments made from recycled polyester, fleece from recycled PET bottles or degradable garments. By then, 100% of our outdoor clothing and at least 80% of our golf and outdoor wear will be sustainability-labelled.

Join us in our long-term program.

We are humble towards the fact that our industry is just in the beginning of a huge transformation and a lot of work is yet to be done, and we are happy to answer any questions you might have. Please contact us at info@dailysports.se

The fashion industry is often criticized for creating a wear-and-throw society. And rightly so. Garment production uses a lot of resources. And more than half of all clothing manufactured globally is burned or thrown away within a year. We want Daily Sports to be part of the solution, not the problem.

That’s why “good-quality and timeless clothes that you can wear season after season” is at our core.

Sustainable production and sustainability-labelled garments

At Daily Sports, we regard the transition to a sustainable production as the main task to reduce the impact our products have on the environment and our health. That’s why we’re working towards the UN’s global goal 12: “Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns”. We’re doing it partly through our slow fashion philosophy, mentioned above, and also by creating sustainable production and products.

By reducing the consumption of water and chemicals in production and increasing the proportion of recycled material in our garments, we can make large impact. We strive toward meeting all environmental goals in our purchases, and we work hard on reducing the spread of microplastics in nature and the sea.

We follow the REACH chemical legislation. And we work hard to make sure our clothes don’t contain substances that may cause allergy or skin irritation, be carcinogenic or have a negative impact on the environment. This is an area we constantly work on with our suppliers, trying to be a step ahead in order to phase out any elements shown to be harmful to people or to the environment.

Sustainability-labelled garments

There are no international of national sustainable certification for clothing. However, our definition of a sustainable garment consists of at least 50% recycled or organic material, or is made of a material that is eco-certified by a third-party.

Our goal is to increase our proportion of sustainable-labelled garments from today’s 10% to 80% for golf wear and 100% for outdoor wear by 2025.

A natural part of our program on sustainability is the way we transport our goods. Our policy is transporting goods by seas as our first choice and by train second choice. Air is our last resort. The same applies to business travel: we chat and meet via video conferencing instead.

Social sustainability

Protecting and reducing the impact we have on the environment is one of the key fundamentals in our sustainability programme. Another important element is social sustainability: being a company that is responsible for the impact on health and the communities we operate in. Or as declared by UNs sustainability goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

To maintain our presence in Asia, where most of our garments are manufactured, we have an office in Hong Kong. We don’t own factories ourselves, but use subcontractors instead. We work constantly to improve conditions for everyone in our business – from production in Asia to our head office in Sweden.

Gender equality – across all ages

For a company like ours with only female employees, a female CEO and owners and female customers, it’s only natural to work towards UN global sustainability goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. But nothing is achieved automatically. Not even by a women’s brand, created by women. In addition to promoting and supporting women in male-dominated fields such as entrepreneurship, golf and sport, we collaborate with organizations working on gender equality internationally. Among other things, we’ve supported Kvinna till Kvinna (the Swedish foundation for women’s rights) and We Effect’s work on women’s rights.

For us, UN sustainability goal 3 is no less important in gender equality: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. Our brand promise is to create clothes that make women passionate about being active, regardless of age. We want to encourage women of all ages to exercise.

Thank you for taking part in our sustainability goals.
